Wildfire sparks near Peters Creek Parkway in Winston-Salem

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — A wildfire sparked near West Academy Street and Peters Creek Parkway in Winston-Salem on Monday afternoon, according to the Winston-Salem Journal.

The blaze spread across an overgrown area near the Budget Inn.

The fire started at about 2:45 p.m. and was out in about 15 to 30 minutes, according to Winston-Salem fire.

It is unclear what started the fire.
