More than 130 local, state and federal law enforcement officers canvassed two neighborhoods Tuesday, looking for witnesses to two fatal shootings. Investigators gathered leads on the killings from their efforts, authorities said.
Winston-Salem police officers and detectives gathered in the parking lot of Union Baptist Church on Trade Street with officers from about dozen other agencies. From there, they proceeded to the neighborhoods in and around Bohannon Park Circle and East 23rd Street. The effort is part of the Violent Crimes Task Force Homicide Response, police said.
Investigators are trying to find witnesses in the shooting deaths of two men.
Kedrick Leonard White, 44, was found on the front porch of a home at 1517 E. 23rd St. on June 7 with a gunshot wound. White later died at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center.
