WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – Reanimator Records will close today in downtown Winston-Salem after nearly four years in business, according to the Winston-Salem Journal.

The venue at 344 N. Patterson Ave., near Krankies Coffee, offers a combined record store and event space, including live music, vinyl records, beer and art shows.

“We’ve had many shows there over the last four years — bands touring from around the country,” said Shawn Peters, who owns Reanimator Records with his business partner, Anthony Petrovic.

At about 400 square feet, Reanimator was established in October 2012 to fill a niche for bands that needed a small venue in Winston-Salem.

“Now, there are a couple of other places that do that, so it’s kind of okay for us to bow out for now,” Peters said.

The business is hosting a goodbye concert starting at 7 p.m. tonight.
