WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — Krispy Kreme Doughnuts Inc. is bringing back its highly popular Panthers Monday discount for a fourth consecutive season, according to the Winston-Salem Journal.
However, it won’t be as sweet price-wise. The company said Wednesday it will offer a dozen glazed doughnuts for $4.99 on Mondays at participating shops in the Carolinas following a Panthers win throughout the preseason and regular season.
Although that represents a $3 discount off the regular price of $7.99 a dozen, the promotion isn’t quite as cheap as last year’s buy-one-get-one offer, which brought the price down to $3.99 for each dozen.
“The team’s success last year really helped to solidify this as a tradition after a Panthers victory,” said Jackie Woodward, the company’s chief marketing officer.
Spokeswoman Sarah Roof said that if the Panthers make the playoffs this season, “we’ll take a look at extending” the discount. Krispy Kreme said the offer will be honored on Mondays no matter when the Panthers win.
